Best AI music generators in 2026: 7 tools compared
The best AI music generator in 2026 depends on the job: DeckBe or Mureka for songs with vocals you can download on a paid plan, AIVA for orchestral and cinematic instrumentals you can own on Pro, and Soundraw, Beatoven.ai or Mubert Render for background music for videos. Udio also makes vocal songs, but you cannot download them.

Disclosure: we make DeckBe and have tried to be fair about where other tools fit better. Tools are listed alphabetically; plans and terms were checked on official sites on 21 October 2026 and change often.

What is each AI music generator best for?
AIVA
Best for: instrumental soundtrack music (orchestral, cinematic, ambient, game) that you edit note by note in AIVA's editor.
Plans: Free; Standard €15 a month, or €11 a month billed annually (15 downloads, up to 5 minutes); Pro €49 a month, or €33 a month billed annually (300 downloads, up to 5 min 30 s, adds WAV). Prices exclude VAT.
Watch out for: no vocals, and only Pro gives you the copyright, for individuals and small businesses (under $300k annual revenue or fewer than 3 employees).
Beatoven.ai
Best for: mood-based background music for videos, podcasts and games, described and refined in text.
Plans: pay per track or subscribe for download minutes (MP3 or WAV); check the official site for current prices.
Watch out for: no vocals, no streaming distribution, Beatoven.ai keeps the copyright, and its Terms ask for the attribution "Music by Beatoven.ai" where practicable.
DeckBe
Best for: full songs with vocals, beats and DJ-ready tracks, made by choosing instead of prompting. In Song Lab you pick a genre and sub-genre (more than 150 electronic, plus more than 100 rap, R&B and global ones), female, male or duet vocals, one of 10 lyric languages and, in detailed mode, BPM and key. You write the lyrics or let the AI write them. A song costs 10 usage credits and returns two versions of about 3.5 minutes. Stem splitting, free mastering, cover art and track extension are in the same app.
Plans: Free (for eligible accounts, 15 usage credits on sign-up plus 1 for each day you sign in), Pro $9.99 a month, Elite $19.99 and Ultimate $39.99 (USD outside Turkey). Paid plans download without limit, and the Terms of Service allow commercial use. See plans.
Watch out for: downloads need a paid plan, the free usage credits cover one song but not a stem split (40 usage credits), and named voice characters need Pro or above. The genres center on electronic music, rap and R&B, not orchestral or cinematic scores.
Mubert Render
Best for: instrumental tracks of a set length (up to 25 minutes on paid plans) for videos and streams, from a prompt, mood, genre or reference track.
Plans: Ambassador (free), Creator ($11.69 a month, non-commercial), Pro ($32.49, commercial use online) and Business ($149.29, apps and agencies), all billed annually.
Watch out for: no streaming release, Content ID or standalone sale on any plan.
Mureka
Best for: full songs with vocals from a prompt or your own lyrics, with remix, plus extend and section editing on paid plans. Premier adds up to 12 stems, MIDI and DAW export, and voice cloning.
Plans: Free (4 songs a day, no downloads), Pro ($10 a month or $96 a year; up to 500 songs a month) and Premier ($30 a month or $288 a year; up to 2,000 songs), in USD.
Watch out for: Mureka owns songs made on the free tier unless you upgrade, and it keeps a broad license to paid output.
Soundraw
Best for: royalty-free instrumentals you shape by genre, mood, length, energy and individual bars.
Plans: Creator (unlimited MP3, background music), Artist Starter (10 a month), Artist Pro (20, with WAV and stems) and Artist Unlimited. Prices vary by currency; see soundraw.io/pricing.
Watch out for: no vocals, releases need a clearly modified beat and no Content ID, and leaving an annual plan early means paying the remaining months.
Udio
Best for: trying vocal songs that stay inside Udio.
Status: Udio turned off downloads for all users on 29 October 2025, when it announced its settlement with Universal Music Group, and apart from a one-off 48-hour window for older songs they were still off on 21 October 2026.
Plans: Free, Standard ($10 a month or $96 a year) and Pro ($30 a month or $288 a year).
Watch out for: the licensed service announced with Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group for 2026 had not launched.
